Blocked tubes is one of the top three causes of infertility in women.
There are various causes of infertility in women, a blockage of the fallopian tubes is the main cause why many women are unable to appreciate. The fallopian tubes are two thin tubes, one on each side of the uterus, which help the ova travel from the ovaries down into the uterus, and if there is a blockage in these tubes it can prevent this from occurring.
When an obstruction prevents the egg from traveling down the tube, the woman has a blocked fallopian tube. It can occur on one or both sides, this is also known as tubal factor infertility and is the cause of infertility in 40% of infertile women.
